Check Your Thread: Self-Coaching for Sewing Success, Part II

In product development and user experience research, these reflections are called retrospectives. So, at the end of a project, you go back and you do a little mini-reflection. And you ask yourself these questions:

• What happened here?
• What did I create?
• What went well and why?
• What didn't go well and why?
• What would I do differently?
• And what did I learn about myself?

Just going through those any one of those questions — either formally or informally — can really help set you up for the next project.”

In Part II of Self-Coaching for Sewing Success, Zoe Edwards and I take a strategic and hilarious dive into many strategies you can try for getting more out of making.

This builds on from Part I of the Check Your Thread podcast, all about gathering self-knowledge.

Fall back in love with your craft:

The weekly Check Your Thread podcast examines how we might sew (and live) more sustainably. Have fun nerding-out about making, while also learning about how you can reduce the negative impact on the planet. Hosted by sustainability-obsessive Zoe Edwards, who also writes, blogs, teaches and makes garments.
